Question 1

What is rankmate?

Accepted Answer

rankmate is a web platform where gamers find API-verified, rank-matched teammates for Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, and Valorant. You can browse free looking-for-group lobbies or book paid play sessions. Paid sessions are checked against real match history — not screenshots or support tickets.

Question 2

Which games does rankmate support?

Accepted Answer

Closed beta v1 is live for Counter-Strike 2 via Steam. League of Legends, Valorant, and FACEIT stay visible in the product as Coming soon and will unlock when those integrations ship.

Question 3

How does rank verification work?

Accepted Answer

You link real game accounts (Steam for CS2 today; Riot and FACEIT when those go live). Ranks and stats come from the game providers themselves. There are no self-reported ranks. For CS2, Steam login only proves you own the account. To show Premier and to sell sessions, you also add an authentication code and a recent match share code so RankMate can read match history.

Question 4

How do I add CS2 match history?

Accepted Answer

After you link Steam, open Settings → Linked accounts → Finish CS2 match history. You need two values from Steam: (1) an authentication code from Steam Support → Counter-Strike 2 → Manage my authentication codes (https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameIssue/?appid=730&issueid=128 — you must be signed into Steam). (2) a match share code for one recent match, either from that same Steam page or in CS2 under Watch → Your Matches. Share codes expire after about 30 days, so use a match from this month. Paste both in RankMate and wait a few minutes while we import matches. Premier then appears and you can offer CS2 sessions.

Question 5

Is rankmate free?

Accepted Answer

Yes for the free layer: browse verified players, post or join lobbies, chat, and team up. Paid sessions are optional — any verified player can sell time at their own hourly rate in platform coins.

Question 6

Is rankmate in closed beta?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Access can run as closed beta (waitlist → approve → starter coins) or open signup, depending on launch mode. During closed beta, CS2 is the live game and coin packs may be free claims instead of card checkout.

Question 7

What are coins?

Accepted Answer

Coins are rankmate’s in-app currency. 100 coins equal about $1. Buyers use coins to book paid sessions. Sellers earn coins and can withdraw them (subject to rules and minimums). RankMate takes a fee only when sellers cash out — about 10% at the base tier, lower at higher platform levels.

Question 8

How do paid sessions work?

Accepted Answer

You request a timed session with a seller (or Instant Book / auto-accept when they qualify). Sellers can also open an “available now” window or send you a session offer to start in a few minutes. Coins are held when the request is placed. The seller has 24 hours to accept unless they already offered the session or auto-accept is on. When the session window opens, both players can join a private Discord voice room. Match history helps decide completion, no-shows, refunds, and payouts.

Question 9

Do I need Discord?

Accepted Answer

Connect Discord in RankMate first — we add you to the community server automatically. Don't use the public invite before that, or you'll be removed until the account is linked. Creating a free lobby needs Discord linked and the community server joined — we open a private voice + text room for the squad and post a looking-for-group alert in Discord. Use Copy link on the lobby to share an invite URL. Joining a lobby and chatting in-app do not require Discord. For paid sell and book, Discord is also part of readiness — paid sessions use private Discord voice rooms.

Question 10

Who can use rankmate?

Accepted Answer

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, book paid sessions, sell sessions, or use marketplace features.

Question 11

What happens if someone cancels or no-shows?

Accepted Answer

Buyers can cancel free of charge when they cancel well in advance (about 12 hours before start). Late cancels and no-shows follow product rules with refunds and strikes. Buyer no-show checks include a short grace period after start (about 15 minutes). Details are in the Terms.

Question 12

How do reviews work?

Accepted Answer

Reviews appear only after verified completed paid sessions, so they are hard to farm. Trust stats like acceptance rate and completed sessions also show on seller profiles.

Question 13

Is rankmate affiliated with Riot, Valve, or FACEIT?

Accepted Answer

No. rankmate is not endorsed by or affiliated with Riot Games, Valve Corporation, or FACEIT. All game trademarks belong to their owners.
